I am a Friend of God
(James 2:23)

Do you realize that you have a friend in Jesus.  Jesus is our best friend. "Why?" You ask. Think of the many reasons that Jesus gives us each and every day that shows his love for us.  Here are some of the many reasons although we would never be able to list them all.

1. Jesus died on the cross for us.
2. Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit.
3. Jesus gives us eternal life.
4. Jesus allows us to live and breath.
5. Jesus gives us parents, family and friends.
6. Jesus helps us throughout our lives.

What an amazing list!  I would want Jesus to be my best friend too.  But there is more to being friends than just what one friend does, in order to be friends both friends must show each other love and support.  As friends we must stay connected with Jesus.  How do we stay connected?  Here are some ways you and your friend can stay connected:

1. Stay connected through an active prayer life.  We should pray to Jesus everyday.
2. Stay connected through talking with Jesus everyday.  Just like your best friend at school you always have to stay in touch.
3. Stay connected through reading the bible.  The bible is God's word.  Not only must we read it, we must study the bible, remember his words and keep them very close to our hearts.  The most important part about reading God's word is that we must believe his word and believe it as truth!
4. Stay connetected to God by going to church.  It is very important for us to go to church to visit's God's house and to hear his word and to talk with the many friends, and spiritual parents and family that Jesus gives us at church.  Isn't he awesome, he even gives us more friends to share with at our church.

There are many ways to stay connected with Jesus, but the most important is to remember to stay connected!  We would never place our friends on the back burner in our lives, we want to talk with them, share with them, and even introduce them to others.  So remember Jesus Christ is our friend and he will never leave us nor forsake us but will be with us even until the end.

May God Bless you and Heaven Shine Upon You
